Description Please tell me as much as you know about this item. I know Crescent Furniture Company was one of the first high end furniture makers in 1904. I found, what looked like to be my exact dresser in a Crescent Furniture print ad from that era on a google search within The Furniture Journal. The dresser definitely used to have dresser attached to the back, because there are places where you could screw one in. The dresser does have the original card on the back that says "Crescent Furniture Co. Warren, Pennsylvania"... well I think. Refer to the picture because a few letters are missing. It is in excellent condition to be so old... doesnt look like it was ever refinished. I really would love to find out the history on this item even more... and the possible value of this piece. I love it so much and I am so interested to learn as much as I can about it. Thanks for all your help!

History I found this item at a thrift store about a month ago. I know that this item was possibly the same dresser featured in Crescent Furniture Co. ads in 1904. The dresser has a card stapled on the back (which the staples look like early never before seen type staples). Anyways, the card says Article at the top then at the bottom it says Crescent Furniture Co., then below that it says Warren, Pennsylvania. The dresser is in excellent condition and caught my eye the moment I walked into the thrift store. I know that is a Victorian dresser made by Crescent Furniture Co in 1904. I also read online in google scanned documents, that the Crescent Furniture Co. burnt down in 1910. I know that Crescent Furniture Co. was one of the first companies to make high end furniture in that day and age. I wonder if only rich people from that era could afford pieces like this? I would like to learn more about the furniture company, the history behind my item, and the possibe value or appraisal opinion?

Our Grandmother (also a Wilson), passed away last week.  I was trying to research her furniture before posting it on Craigslist to sell.  I saw your inquiry regarding Crescent Furn. Co.  from Warren, PA because that is the maker of her Gentleman's Chest and Dresser with Mirror.  If anyone has information regarding suggested price or is interested in purchasing (I am in GA), please reply.

Have you found any info? I recently inherited my great grandfather's vanity. It has the crescent furniture co tag stapled to it. There isn't a year on it but there is a registery number. I cannot  find any records of the company at all.

Just curious, I wouldn't sell it for a million dollars.

The information we have is that Cresent began production about 1889 and was liquidatd in 1939. Pieces likes this were made during the first quarter of the 20th century and are generally referred to as "Federal Revival", because they were designed to resemble American federal style pieces made circa 1776-1830.Values for them at auction vary by local demand, but most sell for less than $250.00. We retail them in good to very good condition for under $600.00.
