The material is a compound of Carrera marble, alabaster & resin that was poured into a mold & then hand-finished. Amilcare Santini was a sculptor born in Florence, Italy in 1910. His firm reproduces sculptures based on his original designs, and those of several other artists. Though he died in 1975, the firm remains in business and is still run by his family. The majority of models are classical in style and are either religious or mythological in theme. Auction estimatees are often $75-$150 with a minimum bid of $25. I think your peice is rare & any western items are usually popular. Some of the pieces are actually worth hundreds or even over 1000.
