It's actually not brass, it's a bronze alloy that used to be called "Durigold". A lot of these sets were brought back by troops stationed in Japan, Korea and Vietnam as gifts for family and friends back home. While they look unique and impressive, they have been produced in very large numbers and value are modest for them, we see comparable sets often sell for under $200.00 at auction.
