I have a collection of furniture located in Mechelen, Belgium that my aunt has been using for many years. She is moving into a senior home now and I am faced with the proposition of either moving it to the united states where I reside, or selling it. I have family locally in Belgium that can help with this.
I have included photos of all of the large pieces. There is one photo per piece. On the carved wood, my Mother purchased most somewhere around the 1950’s and I believe it to be local Mechelen made. I cannot tell the wood, well not from here but a family member guessed Walnut.
Included in the dining set are:
Large Table, 2 chairs with arm rests, 4 chairs w/o arm rests, china cabinet, buffet
I also have a coat rack that appears to be similar to the dining set.
Included in the Library are:
A full size library, and secretary piece
I also have two items outside this:
A chandelier, I was always told it is copper but it resembles brass from a color standpoint
A Radio cabinet, really does not match anything but it’s there also. Presumedly 220V, If of value I will have to have family determine if it works. Most likely does.
