Re: Bronze Mums by Lee

Unfortunately, you have stumbled upon a mass-produced reproduction by Windsor Art Products. This painting was reproduced between the 40's and 70's, and a large number of them exist. Windsor Art Products purchased rights or commissioned artists' original images which they then reproduced on canvas or board that was pressed or embossed to simulate the brush strokes that you would see if an artist painted the picture with a brush. This was not done with intent to deceive, but rather to offer lovely artwork to customers who wanted decorative wall art for their homes. "Lee" is a typical signature of pieces like this, often not the original artist's real name.

The highest price achieved that I could find for a Windsor Art Product reproduction was $155 at an auction in 2008. Most of the time the pieces retail in the $100 to $125 range. I would appraise this piece at between $50 and $150. You would be fortunate to sell it, since the artwork itself is not fine art.

I hope this helps.

Re: Bronze Mums by Lee

Upon further research, in 2013 a Windsor Art Products reproduction, 23 1/2 by 28 1/2 inches, of the famous artist Rembrandt's painting, "Man with a Golden Helmet," was considered to be worth "less than $100 retail if it is in perfect condition."

If a Rembrandt reproduction by Windsor Art in perfect condition is worth less than $100, then this somewhat dull piece of art by the unknown "Lee" is unfortunately not worth more. I'm sorry to disappoint you.

I hope this helps.
