These figures were brought back from Burma by my grandparents in 1953. They are 10" tall counting the teak base. 8.5" Ivory part only. They are very heavy and do not feel hollow.

History My grandparents and mother moved to Rangoon Burma in 1952. My grandfather worked for the US Agriculture department and was sent over there to teach the Burmese how to better irrigate and grow better crops. I do have a receipt for figures they brought back.

There are several  types of ivory, elephant, walrus, and mammoth ivory, then you have carved bone as well.  It is impossible to say what you have unless you can take them to a jeweler or Asian expert, to test them or look at the grain under a high resolution microscope.  Many items marketted as Ivory, weren't, so its best to rely on the experts.  If they are ivory, they are a nice size and at auction would start at $500 each and go up from there depending on the crowd.  If bone, far less.
