I have 8 of these can chairs. All of the seats need to be recaned. They are from before the 50's. On the underside there is a stamp that says "Quality M" and some metal hardware. The wood part of the chair may be oak but I am not sure.

History I have a set of 8 of these chairs that need to be recaned. They belonged to my great aunt who had a large home in Oakland, California in the 50s. These chairs were used in a large reception room she had parties in that included a full sized bar.

These are Thonet style cafe chairs, they've never really been out of production since the turn of the 19th Century. Here's a link regarding these chairs for you
