Description This was found around 1970 while walking out into the Maumee River near Grand Rapids,Ohio. It is a rough cast iron cat head, apparently meant to be attached to a flat surface or it is the right half of an opposite piece.Tnere is a hole (for a nail?)on the back edge of the neck in line with the bottom of the chin. One antique collector thought it might be off an old stove. There was riverboat traffic along this river a hundred years ago,and there was an old park shelter house about 50 yards nearby.Does anyone know what this is? I've been trying to figure it out for over 35 years
