china hutch

Description

2 piece china buffet/hutch, made by Mount Airy Mantel and Table Co. Inc. of Mount Airy, N.C.Upper china cabinet is 55 1/2" high by 72" wide by 14 3/4" deep, 4 tall wood framed glass doors with bronze wire lattice on the face. each side panel is comprised of upper and lower glass panes. it has 3 glass shelves, 2 of which have plate grooves, and is lighted from the top.

 The lower buffet is 76 1/2" wide by 29" tall by 17' deep. the front has 4 lattice type doors with reversable panels,and a false door seperates the 2 sides. the left side has 3 drawers constructed with dovetail joinery, 1 of which is a flatware drawer, with dividers and felt lined bottom, and has the inscription of"MOUNT AIRY Mantel and Table Co. Inc.  Mount Airy, N.C." and the other 2 for linens perhaps. the right side has 2 shelves for storage. the buffet piece is supported by 6 tapered legs.
