This is a bandana from 1862. It has the lyrics to THE BATTLE CRY OF FREEDOM song on it, with otherdesigns. It is cloth, and was folded for some time. There are 34 stars on the shields, leading me to think it was made in 1862, when there were 34 states. That is also the year that song was written. I like to think it is qite possible that a soldier had carried this kerchief on the battlefield.
