Durkopp Leather Sewing Machine

Profile picture for user Chihirolee3
By Chihirolee3, 8 February, 2013
Description

My husband and I aquired this from an antique shop that was going out of business in northern Wisconsin.  We originally purchased it for its purpose as a leather sewing machine, but have not yet used it.

After a detailed inspection and oiling of all moving parts of the sewing machine itself, it is completely functional.  It is a complete machine, there is nothing missing or replaced, except for the bolts that hold the machine onto the stand itself for safety purposes (we have kept the old bolts, which have square nuts).  There are no broken pieces on the machine itself or the stand. There is paint chipped off the stand and rust in some areas.

The pictures are of when we first brought it home, which is why it is so dusty.

The serial number says K1.17-1-1

I am looking for more information on this sewing machine.  There is some information online about the Durkopp company, and I have found out that one other person has a machine similar to this, but is not complete.  I tried contacting him through a leather forum, but have recieved no response.
