I do not know much about this item. It is a rocker made of heavy wood. Only markings on it are on the bottom. I can't make them out. Gold paint is used for decoration trim.
It's highly unlikely this rocker predates the 1980's, when these were sold through a number of discount furniture outlets. Values for them vary depending on how close they follow original Boston Rockers made during the second quarter of the 19th century. At auction these generally sell for under $100.00.
