Enchanting (oriental) silk rug

By steverz, 31 May, 2016
Description

Couldn't resist this one and purchased it today.
Seller had some basic information.

He believed it esd sbout 30 years old or more.
To his knowledge it had always been mounted to a wall and never 'used'.
From what I understood because of a communication barrier, he thinks he was the
third person to come in possession of this rug.

He knows it was brought over to Canada by a Chinese family at some point.

Everything regrettably is heresey or anecdotal at best.  There are no identifying names, dates,
or signature marks, nor tags.

Size:  2' x 4'2"

The detail in this ultra soft rug is remarkable.  The detail is such that looking at it from various angles
trick your eyes into thinking the images and patterns are "popping out" of the rug.  The use of
the aqua blue color impressed me.

If anyone knows what style this rug is, or what class or grade of rug this is for an oriental rug, and of course I'm curious what a realistic value would be attached to this item - I'd be most appreciative!

I thought there'd be more oriental and persian rug collectors out there! :-)
