Description

First purchased for Jim Williams of "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", a famous and wealthy art dealer of Savannah, Georgia. On the night of Jim William's murder my grandmother had the chair ready to give to Mr. Williams. He had paid her to find it for him, but after his death my grandmother kept the chair. It was part of the original set when the first African American church was erected in Savannah Georgia in 1859.

Information on the church can be found here: http://www.oldestblackchurch.org/html/welcome.htm.
