FLOW BLUE CUP? Either xtra rare or cheap knockoff?

Profile picture for user traciejoy

Description

I've been searching with no luck. Either this is extremely rare pattern or it's a cheap knockoff, I'm not sure. Could be flow blue. Japanese figures running, jumping, playing or working in the field. Porcelain, ceramic or china. Only barely visable ding indents, very good condition! Sturdy and solid. Gift from grandma. Unmarked bottom.

Any thoughts on it's value???? Thanks so much! :-)

Re: FLOW BLUE CUP? Either xtra rare or cheap knockoff?

The pattern is called "children with butterflies"  it is kind of the Japanese version of depression glass but in porcelain.  These are everyday china in Japan and were made by a multitude of companies.  You can find the pattern in any shape of Japanese domestic dishes from teapots, to sake bups, plates, bowls etc.  Very common in Japan and was not made for export, so fun to collect here when you can find the pieces.  It was made througout the 20th Century...so not old.
