German Library Table

Description

My parents said this table belonged to my uncle, and he brought it from Germany. I haven't seen anything similar to it, and would like to find out some more info on it. There is nothing on it except: No. 681 on the bottom of the drawer, and various numbers on several of the structural members. Thank You. John.

Date Period ??? 100+/- I'm 63, it's at least that old.
History I know my Uncle was German and a Captain in the (american) Merchant Marines during WWII. He talked of his adventures during that time.
But the table could have been purchased in America after the war.
