My church received this as a garage sale donation. The heavy suitcase appears to be a card salesman's box. The box is stamped "Hallmark" on the outside and is filled with over 50 Hallmark sample cards inside. The cards are unused and are primarily Christmas, New Year's, and Valentine's Day cards though a few Easter, Mother's Day and others are included. They appear to all be sample cards. The box also contains some price lists (for example, price per 12 cards). The case itself has a zippered top compartment and a larger compartment with two partitions that can be used to separate the space. Based on the New Year's cards, we believe the box dates about 1964. Many of the cards are labeled "heirloom cards" and are extremely ornate. Some are popups. Others are labeled "contemporary" and are less so. Some of the cards use artwork on the front. Some are popout paper nativity scenes or such. One has a lace together boy's wallet in a pocket. All the cards are generally in very good to excellent condition. A few have some light yellowing on the back.
