Hand Carved Meerschaum Pipe by Famed Turkish Craftsman Eyup Sabri

By DanzAntq, 12 July, 2019
Description

Purchased in 1983 at the Grand Bazzar in Istanbul, the hand-carved meerschaum pipe depicts a 'Sultan' along with two of his harem on a flying carpet. The never smoked pipe is approximately 5 inches at the base and is dated (983 - September '83), artist's initials (ES) and numbered (94) on the rim of the pipe stem. It is stored in a red-velvet case which includes a metal plaque identifying the pipe (SULTAN), the artist (Created by EYUP SABRI) and the location (in Istanbul). I am the original (and only) owner and purchased the pipe in while stationed in Ankara, Turkey.
