Hand-carved table

By jjlr64, 3 November, 2008
Description

This table was found in a warehouse on River St. in Savannah, GA. approximately 35 years ago.  The top had some water damage either from the warehouse or from being on a ship.  It has been planed, but is still warped. It was originally much thicker- now about 2in. thick.   Each of the three claw-footed legs has different scenes on each side (a total of 6)  that appear to depict mythological figures (i.e. Pan, a harpie, etc.)   the few nails and hinges appear to be handmade.
