This is a unique item. I got it a few years ago from my uncle who collects Civil War memorabilia. When he purchased the item he was told that it was Confederate. The overall length of the knife is 2 feet with a blade that measures 17 1/4 inches. This is a definite favorite of mine. The handle has no wiggle whatsoever, and the blade still maintains its edge. It seems to be pretty well-balanced, and whoever made this you some wonderful "backwoods craftsmanship"
