Handmade / by Machine ? Area rug 1980s

Although the rug's considered by now as vintage (bought in the 1980s in Saudi Arabia). I'm not sure if it's handmade or by machine. A clarification on what type it is would be of great help. There are no tags at the back but we are sure of the country where it was bought by my grandfather.

Pls excuse the thick dust. It's been sitting in the attic for more than a decade.

size is roughly 7.11 x 11 feet
