Help, NO CLUE about EWER PITCHER with Czech stamp - Please view :)

By erinh, 22 November, 2009
Description

This vase is dark green with some gold trim on the very small handle. There is a small opening at the top, as if to pour- there is a scene painted on the front of a farmhouse, trees, with a girl (dutch looking), leading white geese to a pond, but the detail is very small. The label on the bottom looks like a stamp in brown, a circle around the words "Made in Czecho-slovokia" - Hyphonated to fit in the brown circle. I have no idea how old it is or the value. I was told that my grandmother received it in the 30's maybe 40's as a gift. But it is beautiful in color and shape.

Re: Help, NO CLUE about EWER PITCHER with Czech stamp - ...

Hopefully you saw the other comments I made in reply to your e-mail.
I have a couple other findings for you!

I would believe the 50's +\- as a date (as I mentioned earlier!), the markings from Czechoslovakia look similar to yours at about that time (50's to 60's). Earlier they were hand drawn - not stamped. Later they were paper labels.

As far as pricing goes, the comparibles I have found so far are a 10 1/2" Red glaze Vase with birds on branches on the front (approx $150) to a BUD VASE of similar size at $20.

I will keep looking, and am awaiting the further details I asked you for, but so far things are consistent with my earlier comments and a price tag (assuming it's not transfer painted) of about $60.
