<p>To collectors of Heywood Wakefield the finish is one of the main things you shouldn&#39;t mess with, they like the finish intact, it&#39;s part of it&#39;s appeal to them. As for rare, HW mass produced furniture, none of it would be considered rare in the true sense of the word. i dont agree with yr appraisal, its too low. A common simple end table runs for $400 on a google search.

<p>Notice I said &quot; At Auction&quot;. I&#39;m a professional Appraiser, and I don&#39;t just pick numbers out of a hat ;~). We subscribe to a number of auction databases that list virtually anything sold at auction back to about 1987. Of the 220 small &amp; nesting tables by Heywood Wakefield sold at auction by well known Auction houses since 2003, only one set of three nesting tables sold for over $350.00.</p><p>The reason I quote auction values is because they show the truth of current market conditions, and not what some Dealer lists them for in their shop (often based a printed price guide from 2003). The market changes very rapidly now, and sales at auction tell &quot;Real Time&quot; tale.</p><p>For a true example of this look at the most recent price guides for most collectible figurines such as Hummels or Royal Doulton.
