Description

The first piece is a jadeite pendant about the size of a silver dollar and except for the small portion, as in the photo, is an off white color.  I have no idea what the symbolism is of either piece and would like to know.

The nephrite jade item appears to be rather old, but am not certain.  I have no idea why it has the slot either.  I have been told that nephrite jade can be traced back hunderds and thousands of years and age may be ascertained, in part, by the color and the depth of the lines in the carving.  I have read that some ancient carvings were placed in graves and have no idea how they would be unearthed.

Both pieces appear to be hand carved.
