Description
Japanese Buddhist Scrol, l inherited. The Scroll was brought from Japan by mother and has been stored in box for at least 40 yrs. Text appears to be handwritten while Buddha and pedestal/base may be/probably though not necessarily block printed. There are two resting figures under Buddha which are animal like but with human feet.
I can't read the text and have not found someone that can nor do I understand the symbolism/context of the figures, etc. It's in overall good to excellent condition without any cracking of parchment(?). The brass protective corner, upper right is missing.
Hopefully someone can enlighten me.
Thanks for the help.
