Japanese hand carved table
These are actaully nearly always Chinese rather than Japanese, sold through wholesalers all over the South East Asia. Similar sets are still in production to this day. While there is a great deal of had work done on these pieces, they have been made in huge numbers for the tourist/Export market since the late 19th Century. In the current market we see these sets sell at auction in the $150.00- $450.00 range.
