As far as I can find , this is a 11 3/4" Japanese Satsuma Fluted Vase . It has a S with jagged edges with a dot under it on the bottom of the vase (like a backwards Z). What i have come to find out is that Between the late 1800's & 1920 they use to paint a symbol in red of a circle & cross & the artists tag. & that vases after this time that were replicated has (in english writing) Royal Satsuma or made in China . I also seen a couple of articles stating that vases from an earlier period had no markings.
