John Widdicomb Brown Leather Club Chair and Ottoman

By littlematchgrrl, 15 February, 2011
Description

This is a brown leather and wood John Widdicomb chair and ottoman.  I think it is considered a "club" chair.  I do not know if this chair is an antique.  My grandmother purchased it maybe 12 years ago and it was passed down to me. I have not been able to locate the name of the model or the year it was made.  However, I know my grandmother liked to collect fine antiques so I would not be surprised if this is an antique.  It is in excellent condition.  The leather looks nice and the wood has virtually no scuffs.  The back is woven wood (I do not what you call that.  Wicker, maybe?).  When you sit on it you can hear the air let out a bit with a quiet "whoosh".  I am interested in knowing when this was made and what it might be worth.  Thank you.
