I bought an old dusty Lane chest last week. When I got home, I was able to examine it more closely, and the Serial # is 324103 - meaning that it was made March 14, 1923. There is no style number to be found on the chest. The chest has four original legs, and an interior split compartment drawer that rises when you open the lid. The chest also has a large drawer underneath it that has original paperwork about what is covered by the warranty, however the original paperwork for the warranty is missing from the inner lid. Both of the drawers had badly scratched, marred and stained green flock on them - not green felt. I have gently sanded off the flock, and will reapply new Kelly Green flocking to restore them. I don't know if that was a mistake or not, but the flocking was bare in some spots and damaged in others, while the drawer bottoms were fine. The chest has a thin dark veneer on the top, side and two side front panels. The middle panel is comprised of five louvered wood slats.
I would appreciate any comments, as I am not having much luck in my Internet research for such an old Lane Chest. Thank you in advance
