Description
This is a American ? antique cedar chest (with arm rails) that is made out of solid cedar with hand hammered copper strapping that stands on castors . No maker markings that ive found. The trunk is a total of 29in tall, 49.5in long, 19in deep, and 23in wide if measuring from its widest points.front lock plate is gone. Needs cleaned off but I want It done correctly so I won't be attempting it! On the bottom are some added boards someone must have added after for reinforcement (pictured) but look to be of the same time frame I'm thinking this was made.....assuming early 1900s. Found ONE very similar on http://www.mrbeasleys.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=3470
REALLY interested in its history, origin, and of course value!
