Larkin furniture

I would just like to know what this is and what is was used for.  The measurements are approximately 36" high, 20" wide, 14" deep.  The shelves on the inside are about 3" apart and cannot be removed or adjusted.

There is a partial label on the back stating "Larkin". 

If you know what it's worth, that would be great but at this time, I would like to know what it is and its use.
