Letter Opener

By mannykat, 26 April, 2012
Description

Letter Opener of Nude Female possibly laying on a rug. It is a yellowish color metal with a very strong odor..possibly pot metal, brass or silver? Not sure if antique look is actual tarnish or was applied to make it look old. Two small spots on theopener have tarnished a light green color...possibly indicative of metal type? The female is approx 4 inches tall together with the scroll & opener/blade the piece is 9 and a half inches long. It si heavy for a letter opener My son thought this could possibley be a hand dagger as it did at one time appear to have a serrated blade that is now dulled. The only makers mark I can find is a triangle(underneath the scroll) with a line straight down the middle. I have researched but have not been able to identify the mark. I do not know the provence. Thank you. Sincerely,Kat H
