Looking for Value, Origin and what it is made of

Description

This was given to me by my late Grandfather who was stationed in Japan. Not sure if it came from there or not. It maybe Resin, Ivory or even plastic. It is heavy. it is 6.5 inches tall and 8 inches long. Has no marks on it anywhere.

Based on images of the base it is not ivory and is most likely some kind of resin or artificial Ivory, basically ivory dust and resin. You can test with a red hot needle to the base, if it is resin the needle with penetrate and the melted resin will give off a strong smell.
