Hello,
I have two oil paintings signed M Chapot that I received from a relative. I'm not sure how they came to be in her posession, but they portray a similar scene of European street scenesā including shops and cafes. The names of the shops appear French.
Is there a way to estimate how much these are worth? Or is there a database of past transactions? Estimates I've seen online range from $300 to $3,000 but I have no true anchor as to which side of the extreme is correct.
And would something like this be typically worth more in a set?
