M Z Austria Gravy Boat

This was part of my mothers collection that she has had for many years. I really don't know a whole lot about it. It looks like some type of gravy boat. It really is a nice piece. The only markings that I can find on it is on the bottom. There is an eagle crest with a M Z on top and the word Austria on the bottom. There is also the number 1221 cast into the bottom along with the number a988 painted in gold also on the bottom.
