I found this lamp in a local shop. I am really just interested in a history. Where it might have come from, etc... 

I don't know much about it. It's metal - iron maybe? Lots of detail on the bridge, base, and mid-shaft. You can see bits of gold and red paint in places.

It's very interesting.

These metal floor lamps are generic pieces and date from the first quarter of the 20th century, most manufacturers made a line like this with decorative cast metal bases and fixture holders. Values for them depend on condtion and how ornate they are, but most sell for less than $200.00 when restored and rewired.
