Description
Note in box with ring states that it is a "mourning ring worn by Louisa Horton Loring (possibly Loving?) after the death of her husband, Dr. Loring. Lock of Dr. Loring's hair inside." Box (not sure if it is the original) is from C. D. Peacock, Jeweler, Nos. 96 & 98 State St, Chicago. Appears to be gold with some type of stone insets (I am not knowledgable about jewelry).
My grandmother came from the family of Greene & Greene Architects in CA. I believe that this was handed down from her family.
