this is an old wooden pot or bucket that has some designs cut into it. It looks to me to have a lot of age to it. I'm just wondering who might have made it and when and what it was for. Thank you.

History
I bought this in hogansville ga. It just looked folk arty and old. Looked like it could have come over on the mayflower. with pritives it's hard to judge age but maybe the shape and the motif cut in the sides will help someone identify what this is for me.
