"PC Murphy Trunk Company" with "Eagle Lock Co" hardware Upright Steamer Trunk 60"H x 23"W x 32"D

By eault, 19 March, 2023
Description

"PC Murphy Trunk Company" St. Louis, MO
with "Eagle Lock Co" Terryville, Conn. U.S.A. Lock Hardware

Upright wardrobe Steamer or Salesman’s Trunk

Measuring 60"H x 23"W x 32"D
Fully Arched Top
Two hinged latched and central lock
4 large hinges down back

Wooden shelves nailed into interior by Nuns’ Handyman many years ago…

Missing leather straps and center locking bars were also snapped off by said handyman.

I’ve used it as bookshelves and an art supplies cabinet since I found and bought it at age 14… coming up on 50 now… (so, purchased in about 1987).

I’ve always been curious about its origin and details of value, etc.

It’s been a part of my life most of my life…
