Qing Dynasty Carved White Jade

Profile picture for user alohaleesa

Description

I am hoping someone out there can tell me exactly what I have here. This peice was gifted to me fro a dear loved friend. The piece doesnt seem to have any chips or damage on it, and in my opinion is in excellent condition (however I do not know what to look for or what basis is used to judge the condition). At one time it had a slip of paper with it that read something to the effect of 'Qing Dynasty White Jadeite. Precise date unknown.' and a couple other things i cannot recall as i merely glanced at the paper for a moment one time. The paper has since gone missing. I would like to know just what this item was used for back in the qing dynasty, the value of it and any history anybody may have on a peice like this. I havent had a lot of luck researching it on my own. Thank you to all who read this and to all that reply. I look forward to hearing from anyone who knows anything about this piece! these are the links to my dropbox folders, there are two folders total, so that you may view all the photos I have taken of it. Some are in natural light (outdoors) only and in hi-def, some have different lighting so as to see it in many different vantage points.
