Reed & Barton bowl

Description

I found this bowl along with a cup next to some dumpsters.  I don't think it's worth very much.  Have found out that most of the pieces like it were used in hotel dining rooms.  Would like to get some info about it though, like what would it have been used for?

It has some designs around the wide lip at the top.  It's very tarnished and is also heavier that it looks.  It has 4 rows of stamps on the bottom.

row 1: looks like an upside down horseshoe

row 2: 4 symbols - a shield with an F in it, a shield with a P in it, a circle with an N in it, and a circle with an S in it

row 3: REED & BARTON

row 4: 1203
