I have the same pattern plate. My plate does not have the scalloped edges as yours does. The markings on the back of my plate read as: Royal Doulton England “Katherine”. Upon a crown is a lion, and a few numbers of to the side, D 3296, 29, I think. I also have been unable to find a historical documentation of my plate. She is beautiful, and I would not part with her either. Do you watch cash in the attic? I believe this plate is a question the staff of cash in the attic could answer. The show is filmed in England specializing in antiques.

I have just been given a Royal Doulton "Katharine" plate from my Great Aunt.

Who is "Katharine".  Was she a queen and queen of what country.

Can someone provide me with some history as to who this person is?

thank you.

I have a plate like this, but the image of Katharine is whited out but the glaze still in good order not worn ghostly like! It also has an signature of Thsca painted to one side of the Katharine mark, is this more rare?
