Description
This unique timepiece is fitted with a solid brass 8-day wind-up movement created exclusively by Hemle & Sohn of Germany and consists of a cobalt blue glass earth-globe accented with 24 karat gold, a satellite moon of blue lace agate and a time band which revolves with the moon as it circles the globe. It also contains a battery operated digital display that counts down the days to the year 2000 and can be re-set to display the month, day and year. The clock is embellished with richly engraved plates and rests on columns of genuine marble accented with 24 karat gold. The entire work is mounted in a clear glass dome.

Franklin Mint stuff is notorious for not holding its value over time. This clock is no different in that respect. Though much nicer than most of the items they sell as potential collectibles, I've seen four sell at auction for under $500.00.
