Description This is a side table/harp table looking piece. It looks to be made out of cherry or a lighter mahogany. Under the table it has a gold plate indicating the following: Brandt Furniture of Character; 50th anniversary 1901-1951; 4705 51-493; Hagerstown, MD. It has a rectangular top that looks to be as if it is some sort of magazine holder (kind of like an old school desk). There are three legs that have a banana looking shape. It also has gold/brass claw like feet. I apologize for the butchering of this description, but as you can tell, antique furniture is new to me.

Hi It sounds like a beautiful piece of furniture. Even with the "butchering" discription. If I were you, the last thing on earth I would have done is painting it. I would recommend only to strip and polish it. Not even a varnish. But at the end it must be to your liking.
