This is solid mahogany desk with stamp inside the drawer [colonial mfg co. and a #518 on the bottom of the drawer left to me by my aunt believed to late 1800s

Re: solid mahogany desk

This is what's called a " Spinet Desk", after it's resemblance to Spinet Pianos made during the 1840's. Most desks like this one date from the 1920's onward, the type of hinges used on the flip top are called "Soss hinges" which were not patented until 1909 by Joseph Soss. Most comparable desks sell for under $200.00 at auction.
