Stamped 2395 Chocolate Pot or Water Pitcher

Profile picture for user hurricanet

Description

Hello,

I live in Los Angeles  California. Purchased this pitcher which:

  • Is stunning
  • Is heavily engraved
  • Has a scene that includes people playing the accordian, the  flute, people dancing, windmills, churches.
  • Matked 2395 on bottom (see Photos)
  • Inside it almost appears the artist slapped on the silver in a couple places and it is much rougher than the elegant outside
  • Purchased at an Estate sale where the owner had a "speak easy" room including antique wine barrels, a piano, bench, and artwork signed by stars of later days.

I am seeking the backkground on this unique piece as I could not locate any other pitcher with the same bottom. The handle matched many.Where did it come from, who made it, how old is it, the approximate value.

Thanks so very much,
