Desk built by Standard Furniture Co., Herkimer ,NY. It has (8) drawers and two pull out writing surfaces. There is a locking system when the pencil drawer is closed and a key lock on the pencil drawer (no key). It is made of black walnut and I am not sure what wood the drawer boxes are made of. There is a logo burned in the bottem of the pencil drawer as well as a serial # type sticker on the right hand inside of the knee area with "The P.G.l.&C." on the bottom and 11-3743 in the center, possibly from a company that had owned it (see photo). It should be refinished as most nicks and scratches are not deep. The two white spots are from my wife's hot coffee mug.
