Description
I have these 2 small cups, purchased in New England 20 years ago . The mark on the bottom is not 100% legible; I can make out "R & L, Gss. geschatz. There are 2 small stars on the edge of the stamp .
the depictions of the children on the cup at first seems sweet, but closer, they are almost scary (:)) the 3 boys are carrying knives, one has a dead goose with blood on the knife. The 3 girls: 2 look distressed, the middle girl is smiling, looks like she has a mustache !
id love to know the history on what these are and who made them!
Re: Strange German children's milkglass cup
If that is German writing, then it does not say "Geschatz". I noticed that the letter after the 'h' looks more like a 'u' so I typed that into the google translation program. I also noticed that there appears to be another 't' after the''z'. So I typed in geschutzt. Which is German for "protected". No other variation provides any translation.
I imagine it is similar to copyright protection.
