This is a very nice and unique wall hanging. It is made by Syroco, but that's pretty much all I know about this piece in particular. It measures about 30 1/2" tall and up to 17 1/2" in width. It is very charming, nicely detailed with many different variety of flowers and a few birds in the mix. At the bottom, the most impressive bird sits on a branch looking backward. It is very colorful on the front, and the back is an overall black. It has a wall hanger on the back as well. It is in excellent condition with no scrapes or scratches to really speak of. This is a fascinating piece for me, as I grew up looking at it. I would love to know more about its history and value. I'd also like to know about how many of these might still be around. Thanks for any help.
Re: Syroco large wall hanging birds and floral design
SYROCO went in many directions over the years , corkscrews during the fifties and sixties hold the most value , I understand from some contacts that Mirrors and Picture Frames have a market. Top prices here would fetch 125 to 200 dollars. Your pieces came from the early 1960’s , they made pieces like this from 1950 to the late sixties. Your piece probably in excellent condition would fetch 25 to 50 dollars.
SYROCO was still operating in the 1990’s when a fire destroyed all of their records , I believe they are still in existenceÂ
