I have what I believe to be an antique Steiff teddy bear. I have done some research and in comparing characteristics, my bear meets the identifying qualities.
The characteristic of my bear would include;
Mohair body gold in color
Glass eyes (I think)
Elongated snout
Hand sewn nose
No button or tags remaining but obvious spot on right ear where button would have been attached
Open mouth with peach colored felt
Peach colored felt pads
4 claw paws with ling heavy black thread
Voice box
5 jointed (limbs and head)
Long curved arms that extend to/past hip)
Curved arms
Facial seem
Exaggerated hip
Older style stuffing
I would be most interested in authenticating the origin of this bear as well as its valuation.
